Although I have always enjoyed photography, I became more enthusiastic (obsessed) in 2010 when I joined Dundee Photographic Society.
The atmosphere of helpful support and friendly competition fuelled my desire to compete in internal Club competitions and in outside competitions and Exhibitions (Salons). I have been chasing distinctions and awards ever since.
I shy away from commonly photographed subjects in favour of more unusual and wacky subjects and off-beat situations. I seemed to developed a bit of a thing for wacky selfies taken with a fisheye lens and bold processing (see my ARPS & CPAGB Galleries).
I also like Street photography, particularly in foreign cities, and Asia in particular! (see separate Galleries of each country)
My latest fad is Macro photography, mostly insects and spiders (see Macro Gallery).
In my youth I was into punk music and skateboarding. I am pleased to say that the skate-punk ethos is still with me today and has a huge influence on my approach to photography. And life.
